Grand Koi is pleased to announce that we have a new batch of Sakai Imported Japanese Koi Fish. They range anywhere from 17 to 22 inches in size and are absolutely amazing. We know what koi people love…pics of great fish! If you have tried your hand at koi photography you are probably aware of how hard it can sometimes be to get just the right shot. The other day we had some fun trying to get some nice snapshots of a few of our koi in the indoor facility. The fish we really wanted to capture would just not cooperate but we found a few gems after all.

This past Sunday we had the pleasure of hosting the Atlanta Koi Club’s (AKC) September meeting at our koi farm in Douglasville, GA. The day began with the Executive Board meeting, after its conclusion everyone enjoyed lunch and had an opportunity to catch up and socialize. Once lunch was finished it was time for the real fun, visiting the indoor facilities and seeing some fish! The club members had the chance to be some of the first people to see our new indoor quarantine facility where they found some of our latest shipment of koi which arrived from Japan last week, some more of these newly arrived koi could also be seen in some outdoor pools.

Once everyone had the chance to get a good look at all of the big fish in the main indoor facility, the raffle was held and winners were announced. Some AKC ‘Koi Show Bucks’ and some fertilizer packages went to the lucky winners. There were also two grand prizes courtesy of Grand Koi, two imported Japanese Koi – a Tancho and a Hi-Utsuri. Unfortunately, one of the Grand Prize winners Doug had ridden his beautiful Harley, so his new fish had to catch a ride home with a buddy. Some members couldn’t resist the opportunity to purchase some beautiful koi to take with them. We had some fun catching the fish and they were then bagged up and sent with the happy owners to their new home. We at Grand Koi were grateful for the opportunity to share our facilities with the club, we really enjoyed ourselves and hope that everyone at the AKC did too.
